Public Functions.
Public functions.
SGR introduces the Public Functions dataset, designed to provide a more targeted and structured consultation of information.
Positions not explicitly listed as PEPs in the relevant legislation will be included in the Public Functions dataset.
These roles are still of potential relevance for due diligence purposes, as they are linked to public functions and potentially exposed to corruption risk.
Which categories are included?
Positions not explicitly listed as PEPs in the relevant legislation will be included in the Public Functions dataset. These roles are still of potential relevance for due diligence purposes, as they are linked to public functions and potentially exposed to corruption risk.
Individuals serving as judges in courts of first instance or in judicial bodies whose decisions may be appealed.
Individuals holding significant positions within religious organisations, without exercising political functions (e.g. archbishops, cardinals, spiritual leaders of different denominations).
Individuals holding senior positions in the administration, management, and oversight of public bodies. This category includes organisations that, at national, regional, or local level, manage essential public services such as education, healthcare, transport, security, and justice (e.g. state agencies, universities, research institutions, cultural institutions, public consortia, chambers of commerce, and business representative bodies).
Individuals holding senior positions in the administration, management, and oversight of companies under public ownership or participation that are not considered relevant under national legislation. This includes, for example, companies controlled by regional or local authorities, companies with minority or non-majority state participation (below 50%), and companies owned by PSEs.
Including department heads within ministries, special government commissioners, and senior ministerial officials.
What are the benefits?
Targeted
analysis
A clear distinction between PEPs and other potentially relevant figures enables more effective assessments.
Regulatory
compliance
The new dataset has been developed in line with international and national recommendations and requirements (FATF, Wolfsberg Group, EU Directives, supervisory authorities).
Greater control
and customisation
The separation into distinct datasets allows clients to tailor consultation to their compliance and risk management needs, personalising it according to their risk appetite to monitor only the data that are truly relevant.
